Have agreed to a deal that will make him the highest NFL analyst in TV history ... a deal that will pay him around $17 million per season.

The previous NFL high was $8 million per year that John Madden received more than two decades ago. Even when adjusted for inflation, Madden’s number is $14 million.

The deal is a long-term contract, with sources saying it is for significantly more than five years. This means the total value for Romo’s contract will surpass $100 million.

I'm a big Romo fan. THe numbers are crazy. But that's true of many media, sports, or entertainment numbers. Those guys, gals just don't live by the same rules as us working shlubs.

Romo's reign as the highest-paid TV sports analyst short-lived?

Reports surfacing that ESPN is prepared to offer Peyton Manning $18 million to $20 million a year to call Monday Night Football

Possibly Al and Peyton on ESPN. I think it’s a home run however I don’t plan on watching MNF any more or any less based on who is calling the game
